For an onsite visit to an inmate in Daviess County jail, family and friends should schedule an appointment a day before the intended day of visit. Visitors are expected to leave personal belongings in their cars and must be appropriately dressed. Phones, video or audio recording devices, and cameras are prohibited. Former inmates, persons on parole or probation must get permission from the agency supervising their release and from the Sheriff’s Department for a visit to be approved.

Only individuals with documented proof of legal interest or direct relationship with the deceased can request a death certificate in Daviess County. Requesters eligible include:

  • Parents of the deceased and must be named on the death record
