How to Perform a Property Owner Lookup in Marion County?

Interested individuals can perform property owner lookups remotely and in person at Marion County record custodian offices.

To conduct an in-person property owner lookup, visit the Marion County Recorder's Office during the regular operation hours – 8:00a.m – 4; 00 pm, Monday to Friday, except on public holidays.

Also, record seekers can make a record request by calling the Marion County Recorder's office. The document number, a credit card for payment, and a return email address should be kept handy while making the call. Requested information and documents are returned by email. However, certified copies of property documents are only available for pickup at the office location or sent by mail.

Generally, the Recorder's office processes a record request in one business day after receiving the request, however, a document sent by mail may take a longer time. The search portal provides access to full property documents at a cost. There is a pay-as-you-go service and a monthly subscription service. The subscription service requires record seekers to register an account and submit a signed Loredo Agreement. The pay-per-search is charged $6.95 per search and $1:00 for every printed page. The monthly subscription is billed through an escrow account managed by the County Recorder's office. The monthly billing is processed on the first day of a month for the previous month.

How to Find Property Owner by Address Free

Record seekers can find property owners by address at no cost, both remotely and in person. The Marion County Recorder's Office and the Marion County Assessor's Office provide property search tools on their web pages that may be used to find property owners by address free. To use the Assessor's property search tool, visit the Property Report Card Portal, select 'address' as the preferred search criterion, and input the property's address on the search page to retrieve the property's information, including the owner's details.

Alternatively, interested individuals may visit the Marion County Recorder's Office in person to conduct a property owner search by address at no cost. However, there may be certain fees to be paid to obtain copies of property records. The Assessor's office may also provide property information for in-person search at no cost.
