The Office of the Delaware Circuit Court is responsible for the maintenance of its divorce records. Divorce decrees are obtained after 60 days of filing for dissolution of marriage in Delaware County. Divorce decrees are provided if there were children during the marriage. A copy of a signed decree will need to be taken to the county clerk's office if a name change is granted in a divorce. This is to have the decree certified with a red stamp and a seal. The certified decree will be used to change names at the social security office and other establishments. Delaware County marriage records are preserved by the Office of the Delaware County Clerk. The office charges a $1 fee per page for a copy of a marriage record in addition to $3 per document for certification. Delaware County marriage records are considered public records and can be obtained at the Office of the Delaware Circuit Court Clerk. The Office of the Delaware Circuit Court Clerk is responsible for the preservation of all marriage records in the county.
